2006 to 2010 - $299.00 plus shipping

you can order them in the original chrome version or the blacked-out version... and the halos are available in white, red, yellow. blue, or green

To start the customization process off, I purchase a brand new set of PT Cruiser factory replacement headlight assemblies… after receiving the headlights I completely disassembled the units, clean out all of the original adhesive from the sealing channels on both of the rear housings and also off of the front lenses, then I black-out the trim bezels and the reflector buckets, which you can see clearly in the pictures that I have included on this page.

The next step in the customization process is to add a pair of 60mm and a pair of 100mm White COB LED Angel Eyes Halo Rings to the stock PT Cruiser headlight reflector buckets... the 60mm halo rings have a total of 66 super bright white LED's placed side by side on a PC chip circuit board with no gaps in-between, and the 100mm halo rings have a total of 117 super bright white LED's placed side by side on a PC chip circuit board with no gaps in-between... trust me, these things are super bright even in the daytime.

The assemblies were then sealed back up using Loctite Seal & Bond adhesive sealer to give them a tight seal and keep out any moisture.

The halo's will obviously need a power source, and most people just wire them right to the parking/corner lights, but some choose to wire them through a toggle switch... so if you’re not good with wiring, you'll probably need to have someone who is good at wiring install these for you.

The headlights may or may not come with factory style replacement bulb/socket assemblies in them, some manufacturers include them and others don't… either way they are not considered part of the sale and I do offer any guarantee/warranty for the bulbs if they are included, and if included they are only in the assemblies to plug up the holes so that nothing gets into the headlight housing assemblies... in other words, they're just acting as hole plugs and nothing more.

Unfortunately, once I open the headlight assemblies and modified/customized them, any manufacturer’s warranty is voided, and I do not include any guarantee/warranty on the assemblies or the LED halo’s… I only guarantee the custom work that I’ve done on these to be free from having any defects.

So, here’s your chance to own a set of these “One-of-a-Kind” COB LED Angel Eye Halo headlights in either a chrome or blacked-out version for your PT Cruiser at just $299.00 (plus shipping).

What are COB LED Angel Eye Halo Rings?

COB, or chip-on-board, is a manufacturing technology of LEDs where the LED chips are mounted directly to a PCB board.

Essentially, the whole board becomes the LED package, and in white rings, the converter layer covers the whole surface, diffusing the light very evenly from each LED chip. Multicolor COB technology is not possible at this time.

This results in a very uniform and very bright light source. There is much less surface area to diffuse heat compared to the heat-sinking of individual LEDs like on an SMD LED, so the heat should be diffused through a sturdy aluminum backing. Many cheaper rings use an aluminum-colored film on the back, not actual aluminum.

There are no resistors on the ring itself; rather, the power is supplied at a constant current through an external regulator, which is then plugged into a 12V source.

The white color appears completely yellow when off, which can be mitigated through the use of diffusing covers. Many COB rings now utilize an extra white-colored layer on top of the phosphor layer, to make the white-colored rings also appear white when they are off.

COB rings do exist that are RGB multicolor, but currently, none exist that use a diffusing layer to combine the colors, leading to a subpar dotted effect on lower-intensity colors such as red. The addition of a diffusing layer creates extra heat buildup, which reduces the lifespan. Many companies are actively offering a non-diffused RGB COB ring, and other companies, including Diode Dynamics, are researching a diffused, but reliable RGB COB ring.
